16th November 2022 Chairman Dr. AM Arun Memorial The second memorial day of Chairman Dr. AM Arun was observed on 16the November 2022, Wednesday. Students and staff of VIOR commemorate his memory. Chennai A blood donation camp was held in Vasan Eye Care Saidapet. Salem A blood donation camp was held in Vasan Eye Care Salem. The team also conducted a vision screening and hypertension screening programme at Bodhimaram old age home in Kondanayakkanpatti.

November 1st, 2022 HOYA Product Information Session Session on MiYOSMART, progressives and coatings for VIOR Chennai interns by Optom. Ashok, Vision Expert, HOYA was conducted on 01, November 2022.

October 21st, 2022 Diwali Eye Safety Awareness Programme VIOR students and faculty went to Vidyamandir school and conducted a Diwali eye safety awareness programme on 21st October 2022, for about 500 students, including skit and poster presentation.

October 20th, 2022 Optometry Council of India Online Session Optometry Council of India conducted an online session for VIOR Chennai interns. Thanks to Optom Urmi Gogri, advocacy and project manager, OCI, for the informative session.

October 15th, 2022 Winners in IVI International Optometry Conference Evangelin Devadharshini, B.Optom intern, won the best poster award in Digital Eye Health category and Shruthi V, II year M.Optom, won the best paper presentation in Contact Lens category in the IVI International Optometry Conference, held from 13th to 15th October 2022 in IIT Madras Research Park. 4 other interns also presented posters which were well received.

October 11th, 2022 Bausch + Lomb Mastermind In-Campus Bausch + Lomb Mastermind In-Campus first session this year for Chennai VIOR interns was conducted by Optom Jayashree Sekar, Professional Services Manager on October 11, 2022. It is a structured six month contact lens training program which facilitates the transition from a student to a contact lens practitioner and prepares students better to take challenges in real world.

15th August 2022 Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav VIOR students and staff actively participated in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign to celebrate the 75th year of independence.

6th August 2022 COVID Vaccine Drive The Greater Chennai Corporation conducted a vaccine drive in Vasan Institute of Ophthalmology & Research, Chennai on 6th August 2022. Students, faculty and staff of VIOR who were eligible for the precaution dose were administered the vaccine. VIOR is committed to 100% vaccine coverage.

30.07.2022 IVI-Essilor Optometry Wizard of the Year  Congratulations to Bhuvaneswari Ganesan, II year M.Optom student, who has won the heavily contested IVI-Essilor Optometry Wizard of the Year 2022 National Quiz organized by India Vision Institute on 29.07.2022. She won a cash prize of 10,000 ₹.  Nithya M, VIOR Salem faculty, was one of the winners in the audience round. She won free entry to IVI 3rd annual conference.
