Empowering Perspectives: VIOR Visit to the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities
On 7th January 2026, students and faculty members from the Chennai and Salem campuses of VIOR visited the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD) in Poonamallee. This educational visit offered students a profound understanding of the comprehensive rehabilitation services and vocational training available for the visually challenged. By engaging with the institute’s initiatives, our future optometrists gained firsthand insight into the social and rehabilitative aspects of eye care, reinforcing the importance of empathy and holistic support in their professional practice.
